President Biden believes that American workers and manufacturers can compete with anyone—as long as the competition is fair. Earlier this week, President Biden directed his U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai to increase tariffs under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 on $18 billion of imports from China to protect American workers and businesses – including by doubling the tariff rate on solar cells and modules from 25% to 50%.
